Kisa Holtz has always been able to talk to Cole Gecko, ever since she was a little girl.
Now Kisa is 26 years old and is living with a drunkard for a boyfriend and a voice in her head for a best friend, but when the voice in her head has had enough of Kisa's boyfriends behavior, he encourages her to move out and leave him.
Kisa does as she's asked by Cole and leaves, Matt her boyfriend and embarks on a trip from Texas to El Rey, Mexico a place where she knows no-one save for Cole who she's about to actually meet for the first time, though she doesn't know it yet.
She also doesn't know that Cole is the head of El Rey's biggest drug cartel and isn't exactly human.
Kisa doesn't know who or what this man really is, but she knows one thing: she's in love with whoever he's about to become and all she wants to do is get lost in him and his world, the both of them.
