16 year old Emily Rivers is forced to move from her home because of the sudden death of her mother. She has no other relative so she goes to live with her father in Santa Rosa in California.

On her first day there she meets young and charming, 17 year old, Chance Douglass. They instantly become friends during the holidays and things heat up pretty quickly. Late night conversations, sharing secrets...except for one that might change their lives..

School reopens and surprisingly they are both going to the same school. In Santa Rosa Academy, new scholars are mistreated. Leading the bad group is Chance. Now that he has feelings for her he doesn't want to mistreat her, but to maintain his standards and not be called names he has to.

 Will he rather keep up and please his friends and hurt the only girl he's ever loved? Or screw the friends and publicity for her?

Victore Academy boarding school is a lot of things. To the outside world, it's the heaven of schools. For some students, it's an experience they'll never forget. For others, it's the place to start their careers. And maybe for a few, it's the peak of their lives and really as good as it's going to get for them. And for me... well, I'll need a bit more than this to talk about that. But before you step in, here's a few things that everyone makes note of: 1. The students have secrets. And money. It's hard to tell what more of, honestly. 2. Don't get a room on the West Side of the girl's dorms. The birds around that private property lake house downside from campus don't stop chirping at 5AM. It's unpleasant, to say the least. 3. Avoid Mr. Labadee's classroom at all costs outside of lessons, especially past fifth period. It's better off if you're left in the dark with this one. 4. That asshole from Spain that terrorizes all the young freshmen is not hot. However, girls do make note of the fact that he works out post seventh period and right before first, near the track field. 5. The Victor's Tournament happens every year for all the senior year students. It's a pretty big deal. 6.
