The room shimmered with obsidian light- it was dark, though Luna could still observe him with precision.  "I hate you," the words scraped past her lips, voice vacant of emotion. It was frightening. 

Her hand didn't waver as she swiftly pointed the gun to his forehead drizzled with sweat, heightening his sharp features. His eyes made contact with hers, and she was hit with the memories of a time she saw the troubled beauty in them. Now, it was eons away, and curiosity slipped into her thoughts as to how time was swallowed away so quickly.  

Luna could hear her heartbeat drum a specific, erratic rhythm. 

"Baby, go ahead." The  harshness to his voice rang in the empty room; yet, there was a softness to it that he couldn't hide from her anymore.
