Mitch was taken from his life. As he grew in captivity he began to loathe the man who took him away from Scott. 
As the years drag on Mitch falls away from the ways of hatred and suddenly doesn't know how he feels about his captor. All he knows is that he wants Scott to be happy and he'll do anything for him.
