This is a short story I wrote inspired by Aesop's fable, "The Lion and the Shepherd." It is about a young cat named Shayla who finds a dog that needs her help, and discovers that when she does good to someone, he will remember what she did when she is in trouble.

Survivors
Many, many, many years after the Warriors Cats books. The cover photo is of two of the main cats, Littlebit and Minibit. Just so it's also knows, I did this many years ago and might go through it again and fix how it's written. It was my first story I've EVER written and I think it kinda sucks. I named it Survivors before Erin Hunter started the dog series named Survivors. Its all kind of a coincidence. Please leave me some comments on things to possibly fix, because I do want to fix it one day and try to make it as good as I really wanted it to be. So, just a disclaimer. This is an old story I wrote for my four best friends back in middle school and I wasn't very good (I'm still not that good). I've tweaked it a bit but the plot is still the same. One of my friends, who's in the book, has asked me to put this up along with the sequel for some time now. So, yeah. Enjoy. Oh! "Don't go inside! Stay!" She said, holding her hand up to show me her palm and then I leaned over the balcony, resting my forearms on the railing to hold me up. I rolled my eyes as I exhaled deeply. Apparently I was a dog now. But fuck, It's her! What are the fucking chances. It feels like I'm in one of those Wattpad novels that Beth always reads. She quickly rushed inside and opened her blinds so that I could see right into her apartment. I watched her rush over to her stereo to lower the volume and then she came rushing back out, out of breath. "Did you get my note?" This is a sign from whatever forces are at work here, what are the chances that you would be living right across from me!? This is fucking crazy, I can't accept the money and the universe is giving me a chance to return it."
