Nate O'Connell isn't the relationship type. He's more of the hit it and run type of guy. Tris McCall isn't interested in getting mixed up with Nate. She's against going out with Nate, due to his player nature, but Nate is determined to get her to like him. Even go on a date with him. Throw in Aaron Thomas, the school's bad boy and Tris' best friend and the fact that Tris doesn't know everything about these two boys. That's the scary part.
