Angelica Simons is a strong, independent girl that has been dealt all the wrong cards in life. At age sixteen she has to provide for herself, earn her own money, and worry about graduating on top of that. Angelica has never been a straight A student; she just never had enough time nor energy to get anything higher than a passing grade. But now, her grades have dropped dangerously low which leads to her teachers assigning her a tutor. Who would have ever thought her tutor would be the schools notorious bad boy - Jeremy Williams - who continually causes trouble but always keeps to himself. When these two are forced to spend time together, they realize they aren't as alone as they once thought. They discover secrets about each other that they have each tried so desperately to keep locked away and find comfort in the knowledge that they finally have someone who understands them. With every up there is always a down three times steeper, but can they push through all the obstacles in their way? Or will they give up when times get too rough?
-- "I can't do this," I gesture between us, "anymore. I'm not strong enough!" I turn away to hide the tears in my eyes, wanting more than anything to turn around a take back what I've said. But I can't.
"If you honestly think I'll just let you walk away then you don't know me at all. I won't let you leave me, not like this." And as he spoke his last syllable, he crashed his lips onto mine, stealing not only my first kiss, but also my heart.
