It was at midnight on Lilith's third birthday that the raid on her city happened. She remembers a blur of voices and colors, mostly red, her father peering down at her, men breaking the door down, seeing people burn. Above all, she remembers the small creature that saved her life. She remembers that hasty flight to safety, and the morning after returning to her city to find it barren of life. 13 years later, she's taken over the empty castle of the former king and queen, as well as dragons.

Also 13 years later, a boy sick of living by someone else's rules shows up to the deserted city with plans to make his own kingdom. Lilith is determined to keep her and her dragons' home, and to drive away this stranger.

Once he finds out about Lilith's new family, however, his whole plan changes, and Lilith has something new to save.

Empress of Fire

14 parts Complete

Lian snuck out of the imperial palace and exposed the village healer to be a fraud and a devil-worshipper. Cursed by the spurned fire god, Huogwai, and disgraced and cast out by the royal family, Lian set out with her manservant Emiru to the kingdom of fire to rid her of the curse of uncontrollable flames for a chance to regain her claim to the throne. But being a fire disciple meant she was a practitioner of the forbidden arts. For those that hunt her kind, the game had just started.
