A group of astronauts goes to Mars, to see if it can be terraformed. On the North Pole, they find a large Obelisk, a towering rectangular structure tall enough to just break through though ionosphere. On the exact opposite the planet, they find a device. Nobody knows what they are or why they are on the planet until the device is activated.
