The Human Between
We were surrounded, chaos everywhere-fire, shouts, magic sparking across the sky. My heart was pounding, hands shaking, and then I saw him. And wow. Xyron. Just... standing there like he'd walked out of a painting, perfectly still in the middle of the storm, with this aura that made the chaos around him feel like background noise. Majestic. Terrifying. And, honestly, a little ridiculous that someone could look this good while leading an army. "Focus, Elara! He's the enemy!" Kaelith snapped beside me, snapping me out of my awe-induced daze. I blinked, rubbed my eyes, and muttered, "Right... enemy." But even as I raised my hands to summon magic, part of me couldn't stop staring. He moved with a grace I'd never seen, like the battlefield was his stage. And I-well, I was stuck in the front row, wondering how someone could be both deadly and absolutely majestic. ·𐡸· ·༺ ··𐫱·· ༻· ·𐡷· I'm supposed to be ordinary. Human. Replaceable. But the moment magic finds me, nothing is simple anymore. A world I never knew exists. Warriors who see me as a weapon. A villain who wants me-not my power, me. And a prophecy that insists I'm the one to change everything. I don't want to be chosen. I don't want to be extraordinary. But I can't run from what I am-or from the danger and obsession now chasing me. Because sometimes surviving isn't enough. Sometimes, you have to fight for yourself... and for a world that thinks it owns you.
