Make Me Proud

Max always wanted his family to be proud of him. But they never let him get anywhere close to what he wanted. He kept his sexuality a secret from his parents incase they would shame him. Once they found out, they abused him and called him worthless. Max makes a plan to get his family to be proud. His plan is to join the military and get out of the war right away. But once he enters the dark universe of war, he knows he can't turn back. The horrors give him nightmares. But the phrase keeps repeating in his head. "I'm gonna make you all proud." But will it keep him alive? Can he survive? Or will he surrender and be executed in public, right in front of the very same family that rejected him.
