Brooklyn Woxell, a 17 year old Seattleite, is trying to deal with a heartbreaking loss that occured only 7 years ago. Ever since the loss, it seems as if things have gotten worse for her including her attitude, her grades, her relationship with her mom and her common sense. Nothing seems to matter to her anymore except her little brother, Darren. She believes that things can't possibly get any worse than it already is. But when she meets her new teacher on the first day of 11th grade, she starts to realize that maybe it can.
