Five years before "The Ruins of Gorlan" the Ranger's Corp wasn't the warm welcoming place that Maddie or even Will found it to be. The recent rebuilding of the corps made it into a hard and unyielding place. Adrina, and then Susan in her footsteps have many difficulties to face in order to become the first female Rangers. 

This is fanfiction, all characters besides Adrina and Susan and a few others are John Flanagan's, and so are the kingdom and some of the plots.
