Tara Lewis. Tara is your average teenager with the same average teenage problems. In this story, Tara is a much-loved, smart girl at her high school, Lincoln High. She came from a wealthy family. It was her, her twin brother Michael, her dad, and her mom. Tara will have to learn the importance of friendship and love throughout her remaining seven months of school; however, everything seems to be possible with her best friends.

Kate Winslow. A blonde haired, blue eyes girl with an attitude that made her the most wanted girl in school. Tara and Kate have been best friends since Tara had transferred to Lincoln in the sixth grade. Behind those gorgeous blue eyes and blonde hair, was a girl damaged by the past. Can Tara and Kate get through life together or will all of their problems tear them apart?

Jake Carter. Not much to tell. Jake was your normal high school jock who never notices Tara even though he's all Tara thinks about. This brown haired, green eyed baseball star had his own secrets and while everyone thought him and his girlfriend, Lindsay Templeton, the soccer star, were always breaking into stores and restaurants, they had all of their reasons.

Michael Thomas. Tara's twin brother and best friend. Tara and Michael have always been there for each other until life and secrets got in the way. Michaels whole life goal was to graduate with a football scholarship and get out of his house. Michael was also best friends with Tara's love, Jake. Michael will have to choose who's more important: his sister, or his best friend.

Asher Benater. A tall, black haired gorgeous boy who was Tara's first friend when she first moved to the little town of Promise, Maine. Since Tara was 7, her and Asher had been neighbors and their parents, best friends. That is, until Asher's dad had died from a tragic car accident several years ago. The moment Tara came into his life, he knew she was the one, even if she didn't know it.
