After the death of her mother, the adults in Kat Harlowe's life decide that she needs a change of scenery.  Cue the move from NYC to a small town in the middle of nowhere.  Private clubs and rowdy playboys Kat can handle, but typical high school?  Not a clue.  And what about the new guy, Chase Daniels and his secret smiles that sometimes leave Kat feeling like he's got something to hide?  Kat's fearlessness has served to get her out of trouble countless times, but in East River it might just land her in the type of situation that her sarcasm and quick thinking can't get her out of.
