Cecilia Louise Carter is shy. She seriously hates standing in front of a crowd and tends to become very awkward in the presence of people she's never met before. But when the world has undergone mass destruction with only one surviving island, no one really cares about wether someone likes something or not. Their main goal is surviving. Especially when minimal supplies isn't their only problem. A small organization outside the watch of Isla has developed a serum that turns their people's hearts into stone, creating a soulless army. An army that is run by revenge, revenge for Isla. They have somehow managed to keep them out with a group of trained fighters. The Flame is a group created within Isla to guard the border of the lone surviving island from the aggressive attacks of the Stone Hearted. Yeah, no one cares that Cecilia Louise Carter is shy. Which is exactly why she has been chosen to work for Flame, to protect the island from the monstrous Stone Hearted.

One night. One mistake. And everything shatters. When a deal turns violent, a small town is left reeling - and Emery is caught in the wreckage. Grief turns to suspicion, loyalty to lies, and the people she trusts most start to slip through her fingers. Harry, her best friend, is hiding something. The truth is buried somewhere in the aftermath. And the harder Emery fights to hold it all together, the faster it falls apart. In a world of half-truths and consequences, everyone carries a piece of the blame. Some just carry it longer than others. ***** Author's Note: Remnant deals with grief, guilt, and self-destruction. Some scenes include violence, drug use, and mental health struggles. If you need to take a break, please do. Look after yourself first <3
