It's not often I say this to what's real and what's make believe. It began in a old damp cabin a few summer's back. I invited my friends, Susie, Alan, and Blake. It was a hot summer. And one that will haunt me for eternity. we had gotten to the door and unpacked when Alan boasted about how he couldn't wait for this. Blake walked around the back toward an old shed. Susie smiled, walked in and started unpacking. I looked at the tall trees and their beauty had astonished me. Blake came back to the house but he had found something. It was a black porcelain ball. It had the inscription of IX on it. how odd these Roman numerals would be on a glass sphere. It looked very old. This cabin was built in the 1860s when the California gold rush sparked interest to the west. I had figured this was the beginning of great deeds. All Rights Reserved
