Eve Holtz works at SHIELD...or what's left of it.
With Fury gone, she was next in line to run one of the top organizations in the world. Now, by that, she meant she was in charge of the Avengers, their missions, and what the press sees. Though no one really needed to know that.
Once Ultron is gone, Steve is set on finding James Barnes, his childhood best friend who is very much alive. He is found after some searching. To be truthful, the Winter Soldier fell in their laps. After his discovery and containment, Phil Coulson, the new director, adds a new title to Eve's job.

Eve must take care of her team and Bucky, who won't listen to her for anything, protests against her every order, and refuses to do anything that could possibly help Eve. He returns to his old Buchanan ways, but has the resistance, memories, and antics of an assassin. The worst part is even though he won't listen to her, she's the only person he would never harm if she got close. She's the only one fit for the job.
Can Eve juggle the Avengers, a deadly assassin who won't talk to her yet asks to see her, and her own family problems?

Two of A Kind
In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? She knows Hydra will stop at nothing to get their soldiers back, but will she submit to Hydra or fight for right to live free?
