It has been nine years since 'Green' has put away the Four Sword. He has become the new head captain of the guard since his father has retired to the ranking of a civilian and both now reside in a small cozy cottage in a forested area between the castle and it's town. All seems peaceful in the hard-earned rest period after Ganon had tried to cause destruction when the Four Sword was last used, which even after all that time had passed, the townspeople where still uneasy. The uneasiness was soothed when their princess took up battle training from the head guard, Link, at the nobles' father's decision. Old scars seem to be healing, but what would possibly happen if a mysterious dagger would bring untold stories, forgotten magic, and opened wounds to new scars.

The ninja are back for another action-packed adventure! Dive into the sequel to Darkness from Within for a world of new characters, new twists, and new trouble as the story continues in Flames of the Past. -------- Three years have passed, and the past is behind them. The ninja are a united team once again, ready to defend each other to their last breaths. But just because the past is nothing but a faded memory doesn't mean it's not there. As a new threat rises from the shadows, the ninja are thrown into action, but new environments provide new insecurities, and the twisted road of their mission is revealed to be more challenging than anticipated. Tragedy, rumors, secrets, and betrayals threaten the team from all sides, and their bond of loyalty will be tested to its limit. * * * "You really need to work on telling the truth every once and a while. Maybe then it'll be easier to trust you." Mysterious, unidentified sightings bring the ninja to the kingdom of Shillvaron, one of the four kingdoms in Ninjago. Their mission? Protect the Ruby Princess and her prized possession: the Fire Crystal. Everything is going well until Lloyd discovers a link from their new enemy to his old enemy: the Overlord. But no one seems to take his suspicions seriously. Cole couldn't care less about what his former rival has to say and Jay has his own problem to worry about. Garmadon was recently thrown back into his teenage years--and Kai has taken a liking to the princess. Lloyd's refusal to tell the whole truth only pushes them further away and he delves into the mystery alone. But the green ninja isn't as strong as he used to be--physically and mentally--so when his Baddie marking starts acting up again for an unknown reason, fear enters in and it takes everything he has not to fall apart in front of the friends he doesn't fully trust. -------- Cover by me. SHADOW IS AZH'NAHN, A POWERLESS MAGE born into a culture that prides itself in sharing the earth's powers. When he chooses a life of voluntary exile to preserve his family's honor, Shadow receives a mysterious call to witness the unearthing of kotrakoy, treacherous telepathic beasts with four wings and four rows of teeth. As he watches their unholy resurrection with great horror, kotrakoy open their minds to his and offer a glimpse into what life would be like wielding a mage's powers. As Shadow races to warn his people of the impending threat, he discovers a mysterious Trayki woman hanging from the trees and on the verge of death. Uncertain what to do, Shadow initially hesitates to rescue this woman whose people embrace technology and eschew his culture. As Shadow tends to her glider crash wounds, the earth unites them in a soul bond, a sacred union that gives Shadow an unerring duty to protect and preserve her life. And that duty will be fraught with peril: Trayki troops begin bombing Hiwalani villages and while losses mount, magic evolves and Shadow's people lose their power. The Hiwalani must rely on inexperienced youth to master the new magic and stop enemy attacks. Desperate to save their people, few make any progress at all. Only the outcast azh'nahn seems to understand it - and very few trust his judgment. When Shadow believes he's unlocked the solution, it involves empowering the most deadly kotrakoy and risking the complete annihilation of his people. While his solution sounds reasonable in theory, there is no time to test it - it's UNPROVEN.

Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Anything is better than listening to his parents argue or sitting alone in his room doing research no one but him seems to care about. A chance encounter with a magical ring leaves him transported to an alternate version of ancient Wales, or as it was sometimes called, Cambria. 1432 Wales, to be exact. Here magic is the most powerful weapon of all as kings vie for power. Good thing Gideon's teleportation from the present has also left him with the ability to use magic, and he's quickly regarded as a powerful wizard. In this timeline, Wales maintained it's independence, but that's about to change. Henry V is on the throne of the England, and the greatest warrior king England has ever had has set his sights on Wales. Can Gideon help save his newfound friends and master his new powers, while living a double life in the 21st century? Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.

FYI: This is undergoing rewrites and will have a separate book for reading. By the time I'm done with rewrites it probably won't look like this, and I'm hoping it will be vastly better. Thanks for those of you reading and enjoying it. When the world gets turned on its head, Tsukiko clings to the last vestiges of her torn up family and learns to let go of the past, bit by bit. A new family, to break down the walls she built after losing the first, and forgotten pieces of her are brought back together by her own personal sun. I recommend reading A Blade in the Dark by @SleepNecessary alongside this story, as there is a lot of overlap between them - a different kind of co-writing.
