Anderson Elizabeth Zoek is a 16 year old girl who lives in Brookshire, England. She shows that being an orphan is tough but she soon understands that life is tougher in the real world.
Anderson's smaller sister, Sophia, was taken to Waverley Hills Sanatorium in 1915 so that doctors could help fight her tuberculosis. What Anderson said doesn't know is that her sister died 2 years later. As Anderson undergoes Mistress Miami's horrible punishments and Sarah's mean and harsh words, she also has to deal with the fact that she may or may not be going a little crazy.

She never knew her biological father, and her mother, Lauren Volkov, abandoned her when she was young as well; nine, to be exact. She was born with a rare form of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and was unable to feel physical pain, so she never complained about something as simple as a paper cut or a stubbed toe since her brain didn't register it. She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder. Needless to say she had more prescriptions than she chose to mention to anyone except for the people that already knew, and even then, she didn't talk about her mental illnesses, which her friends understood and complied with. After her mother left her, Katherine and George Walter took her in, having basically watched her grow up since Katherine and Lauren had known each other for as long as anyone remembered...until she up and left her only daughter behind that is. Nicolette moved in with them when she was nine and was practically raised alongside the Walter kids, as well as the Garcia boys when they moved in as well.
