The father I never had, Gale Hawthorne. My old best friend, Posy Hawthorne. My sister's lover, Peeta Mellark. My dear mother. Katniss's 'father', Cinna. Finnick. Annie. Haymitch. Effie. Beetee. Wiress. Johanna. Mags. Hazelle Hawthorne.
Katniss was sobbing, her tears dripping onto one letter which she had found.
Rue.
Memories came flooding back, and she abruptly stood up. Katniss collected the letters and stormed out of the room, a look of determination stuck on her face. Peeta rushed of the living room, and Katniss, as soon as she sees him, glances down at the stack of letters before spotting Peeta's and throwing it at him, shouting as she walks out the door.
"It's from Primrose!"
Katniss pokes her head back in.
"I'm finding these people and giving them their letters. I'll be back... whenever. Bye love."
And with that, Katniss grabbed a horse and rode off, determined to give the people these letters.
It's what Primrose would have wanted.

"Look, it's your favorite color." I point at the light orange of the sunset. I hear a faint rustling, and I turn over to see Peeta looking at me instead of the sky. "You remembered," he whispers. "I remember everything about you," I reply, repeating his words to me. I expect to regret my honesty, feeling like I've shared too much. But I feel like I haven't shared enough. I want to tell him everything about himself, to prove just how much I remember. But I don't. We just watch each other until the orange fades into dusky blue. ➳➳➳ In the years following the dismantling of the Hunger Games, Katniss rekindles the fire between her and Peeta. Over time, they grow back together, relearning to love every part of each other. Moving on from the war isn't easy, especially when Katniss still revisits her greatest fears and worst memories every night. But Peeta is always there, keeping the nightmares away, keeping her safe. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination.
