His eyes were glittering, icy blue kladescopes, his irises banded with gold, reflecting my image thousands of times. He stamped his palm on the wall behind me, leaning so close our breath was mixing and his lips almost touching mine.
"I'll help you," he whispered, so soft, so dangerous, into my ear. "Just help me."

Kayleigh never imagined the day her father disappeared and while it was happening she was having the best time of her life. But it happened anyway.
No one knows what happened to Kayleigh's father. Some say he was murdered. Others say suicide. More say he just vanished. The police says there is no trace left of him, no evidence, no remains. It was like he was never born, never alive, never existed. He simply vanished. The police start to forget about the case, but Kayleigh is determined to get answers, whether or not the police is involved.
So when an old lady appears on her doorstep rambling about mist and strange sightings and her father, Kayleigh believes her, desperately needing answers. One big thing the little old lady mentions that doesn't make sense however, is mentioning Kayleigh's high school star and classmate, whom she despises: Kyler Night Phyre. Not to mention that creepy, black, sleek raven with luring purple eyes that watches her movements and where she goes.
Sometimes, when you want answers, you have to trust your enemies to get past the fork in the road.
