Nettie blames unlucky circumstances and her own lifelong misfortune for the fact that her peers have found out her name can easily be manipulated to 'Nerdie'. It's even more unfortunate that Nettie happens to be a huge, socially awkward, epic spaz of a nerd.

Joshua, who happens to be her best friend, finds this hilarious. Well, he would, because Joshua has been a certified jerk since the first grade, which is both bad and good, because he's also the most blunt person anyone knows. The only one he's not directly a jerk to... is Nettie.

Everybody else is still trying to figure it out, including Nettie. But ten years on and Joshua's still the only one who knows why he's so weird.

Their story told through texts.
