1941 Minsk, Belarus Anna Zyznieuski (ziz-new-ski) Anna Z., is 14 years old, she lives in Belarus, right outside of Minsk. She lives with her mother and father. She was an only child. She worked inside a factory, cleaning out test tubes for chemical scientists. She had friends in and outside of school. Her family new many people, so they were very known in Minsk. Yep, life was amazing for Ms. Anna, that is, until, World War ll. She will be forced into death camps, become a slave for German soldiers. Shes forced to help build forts f or the soldiers. She thinks the Germans are horrid people for doing this to their people. She hates all Germans, they took everything from her, even her endless smile. But, when she thinks it gets worse, it actually gets better. More soldiers are sent to her camp, one exact one is Ademaro Edel, a seventeen year old soldier, who loathes anyone who isnt German.
