She had grown up there, she knew everyone, and everyone knew her. She was the talk of the town most days. She was beautiful, talented, and most definitely smart. She was your typical East Texas, small town girl. She knew she had nothing but her family, her farm, and the intelligence she had naturally achieved. She lived in Chireno, Texas, population: 426, smaller than most high schools. She was incredible, and also, she knew it. She had always been sure of where she was in her life, but most saw it as courage rather than snootiness. She had a tendency to be a little outspoken, all the old southern men referred to her as a “spitfire”, she was always stirring up trouble with that little mouth of hers. Like most small town, girls she had never been anywhere. Her family didn’t have a lot of money, in fact they were broke, living from paycheck to paycheck, having garage sales and insisting on saving money everywhere they went. They never even ate out at restaurants, much less travel around the world. But you see, Leighann didn’t see a problem with the way they lived, she was perfectly content in not seeing the places she had always dreamed of. Leighann was like many southern girls, who are ok with the simplicity of country life, and she didn’t need a lot of make-up like those poser “cowgirls” wore. Leighann was completely fine with someday living the life of a rancher’s wife, which to any normal person was an absurd idea. Leighann liked all of this stuff and enjoyed the outdoor life. But this was before she realized how much fun she can have when country meets city, love brews, and lives are changed forever.
