When 16 year old Frankie moves cross-country from Tennessee to New York with her father and younger brother, she doesn't really expect much. Her expectations, however, change dramatically when she is taken forcefully by the shoulders and shoved into the tight-knit group of populars. Her expectations change even more when she meets Levi, a nervous trumpet player that she has been told to give private lessons to. They soon become good friends, quite the unlikely pair. But when Frankie learns why Levi is so nervous, will things change? And will Frankie ever tell him what happened to her mom?
