Ashley Jones lives in the Circle. The Circle is a large area of land, surrounded by high iron and metal walls. Nobody knows what is beyond the walls. And nobody will ever want to know. All the people inside the Circle know is that the world beyond is not safe and that the metal walls protect them from external forces. There is no existing buildings in the Circle prior to the construction of the walls.

Ashley begins suspecting that there is a reason the walls where built, apart from dangerous forces. When her boyfriend, David, also becomes suspicious they team up to find out what is really happening behind the high metal walls.
