It starts with a series of knocks on her front door, a bunch of bothersome IM's and a truly meddlesome, unruly yet good looking boy to uproot Adeline St. Clair's casual, uninteresting existence into a cataclysmic black hole.

                                                                                                   Φ

I'm a loner, mourning life and roaming the empty hallways of my confinement. But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door not just unloading neat brown boxes but Nicolas, the boy next door from hell.

Like some book once said: "maybe we can't predict the future, but we can predict some things." I'm going to predict that Nicolas is going to glare at me forever. I predict falling in love with him is going to be apocalyptic.

17-year-old Abigail Wells, known as Abbie, is shipped off to live with her estranged mother. The same woman whom Abbie has not seen since she was about three years old. Abbie's dad, Keith, is not a good guy and hates her passionately. Her home life was not good growing up yet he was the only parent she has ever known. Her only constant. Adeline Cobwell, Abbie's mother, lives in a small town, Reef's Paradise located in Florida. As the name indicates, the town is sort of a paradise for people residing there. Hidden alcove of a town, separated from busy cities surrounding it. The local saying, 'once you are here, you never want to leave,' is something all townsfolk here adhere to. Just like any other small town, Reef's Paradise has its own stories and secrets. Most of such stories are known to all the residents but unknown to the newcomer, Abbie. One such intriguing story is about the Light House, located at the far end of the town on a deserted beach. There is something about the stories, and the Light House itself that attracts Abbie even before she finds out a secret, hiding in it. This is a story about Abbie's journey to self-discovery, to learn what love and care truly mean. Being a teenager is not easy nor is peeling off layers of masks, especially when you have them on for so long. When anger is the only emotion Abbie's known to express for so long things are bound to explode. This is my first story here. Comments and feedback are appreciated. So who will it be for this hopelessly unromantic girl? The brooding best friend? Or the young and unquestionably attractive substitute teacher? They say every person is worth the potential heartbreak of relationships not working out. That's why people still take that leap. But not me. Never been kissed, never had a boyfriend-I was pretty convinced by now that I was one of those mega-rare exceptions to the rule; the unlucky sap was just not worth the risk. And I'm totally fine with that. Romance and heartbreak? Not worth the hype in my book. Until life decided to get all snarky on me. "Fooled you, idiot! You'll get your love story...just not at all how you wanted it." Before I know it, I'm swept up in romantic turmoil more dramatic than anything my wildest playwright fantasies could dream up. Getting these very real, very adult feelings for the first time is bloomin' confusing. Lines will blur, tough choices will be made, and hearts will be deliciously broken. So who will it be for this once-hopelessly unromantic girl? My brooding best friend? Or my young substitute teacher?
