The second hand of the clock ticks, counting down every moment, testing her understanding, patience and the power of emotions. Tick; promises are made. Tock; people leave. Tick; hearts are broken. Tock; people hurt each other like they're meant to.

She has long comprehended how little she is compared to the universe that she grew up with a heart filled with sympathy and empathy. How does she survive 'til the next minute, when every second offered a heartbreak? She may be too pure for this world, but she has all the love to give, and the world, in return, could offer her a glimpse of that unattainable happiness and a passel of consequences.

"Kuya, will you leave Eury?" Her soft voice was heart-melting when she asked him.

"Never."

Along with the rainfall came the young boy's sincerest smile and Eury mimicked him as they linked their pinky fingers.
