A death on campus; a creepy new professor; an antique penny. And also Logan, Dick, Mac, and more! Set in the 3rd season of Veronica Mars, between episodes two and three, this story is faithful to the setting and plots of early season three. I wrote this story as a writing exercise, so it's not the type of stuff that I usually do. I consider this to be a draft, so I would love to receive any feedback that you have to offer.

At her university, Valence, there are still severe punishments in place for disrespect to any structures on site. Kera finds out that though she won't be expelled for her party-crashing, she did break a serious rule, and she'll have to pay for it. Along with the party-throwers, hot golden boy Miles, and drug-dealing douche Vick, she's given a punishment none of them expected: they're sent to an unknown, tropical island to learn how to control their erratic behaviors. Like a brainwashing vacation against violence, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Except Kera shouldn't be there--she's as docile as they come, and has never been rowdy and rebellious in her life. Wrong place, wrong time? The island has many secrets, some of which Kera and Miles will stumble upon inadvertently, and that will change the course of the rest of their lives. Will they leave the island unscathed? Will they leave it... at all? ----------- A post-pandemic, post-apocalyptic, paranormal horror novel. M'kay. So you know choose your own adventure books? Basically at the end of each chapter you can comment on a line to vote for choices that will impact the story (example: Do they chase after someone or let them go in favour of doing something else). These choices will impact the story, development of characters, and even who lives or dies. You will have no information about what these choices will do beyond what the characters know, much like in if you were in their situation. This is a au, (I love aus so so so much) in which they have powers. Not saying who, what, when, where, or why yet and unless you make the choices that lead to discovery you simply won't find out. Some things WILL happen, regardless of choices (for example, if choice A lead you to meeting Patton and choice B lead you to Logan, You would still meet both, but the one who is voted for will be a more significant character, but it will be fairly equal) early on in the story choices may appear twice, allowing a second chance to discover that character/event/info, and choices will be fairly obvious (ie, Patton at a dog park, Logan at a Library) but as stakes get higher it gets harder. Can you discover the truth and keep everyone alive? I have a main story so updates will be infrequent. Which choice will be decided when I write the next chapter based off who has the most votes at the time. I may write all alternate endings in the distant future if people want, but I won't get ahead of myself. Yeah, ok I doubt anyone's still here. Now I know there is a lot of argument about Veronica's character and how she would never really work at the FBI because she doesn't follow the rules, but in my mind, a lot can happen in nine years and for my story, she has learned some hard lessons. This is a 'LoVe' story because there is no other option for these two but each other. I will put a warning here that this story will contain graphic depictions of rape. I will leave a note at the top of chapters that contain those parts so that you do have a warning, but this is just an overall warning in case you are uncomfortable with that. But enough about that, enjoy the ride.

If you're looking for Rick (and have a crush on him), there's a lot. I wrote him a tiny bit less dysfunctional than the animated Rick, and a good bit nicer. Because let's face it, the animated Rick (as much as I adore him) honestly isn't full-on romance material. Nevertheless I hope the reader will recognize our acerbic, genius, foul-mouthed hero in all his quirky glory. This story was written between Rick and Morty season 3 and 4. In it, I assume the legitimacy of Rick's past wife Diane Sanchez, who was referenced as a memory projection in "The Rickshank Redemption,"and brushed off by Rick as a fabricated backstory. If future episodes uphold that Diane is indeed a fake, my apologies! JUSTIN ROILAND STYLE LOGLINE FOR THIS STORY: Rick competes to rule the multiverse in this one broh. And he meets a chick who likes him, broh! There may be death, tho, so buckle up!
