Stella Truth Mcarty has wanted to be Dauntless all her life, now as the choosing ceremony becomes closer and her family starts to lay the most beautiful truths about her onto her shoulders, her one secret, about wanting to be a Dauntless, could come off the slate. If she tells them they'll be so disappointed in her. To keep a secret is one thing, but to then lie about it, especially in Candor, means shame and dis honor for her. But the choosing ceremony is 2 weeks way. What is she going to choose.

{BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away. It confused me. Maybe I wasn't Amity enough to understand. Maybe I wasn't kind enough. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't belong here. So where do I belong?
