Bleakness became the constant state of Serenity's life while she was imprisoned in Great Meadow Correctional Facility. With half the inmates falling ill with disease and the other half bent on harming who was left, the only choice was to keep her head down, but remaining quiet everyday was just half the battle. Each day she stayed silent to avoid talking about why or how she could commit the greatest sin of all, murder. No one would believe her if she told them the truth anyway; it was too bazaar a concept for anyone to be willing to see her side and why maybe, just maybe she was not the monster she was depicted to be. The press seemed to be the greatest trial of all, however. Letter after letter would come trying several different tactics to crack her, all failing, until the one letter that was different from all the rest: The one from Miguel Santiago. He knew her and stir feelings within her that she thought had perished the moment she took her first life. Throwing caution to the side, she took the leap of faith she never thought she would, tell the whole truth as to the murders she committed.
(This story is co-written. Serenity's parts will be written by me and Miguel Santiago will be written by Ladysif. We are doing it back and forth so each chapter will be us going back and forth. Hope you enjoy!)
