Trees whispered against each other as they greeted the soft south wind that came, a reminder of the coming spring. The young girl sat silent as a shadow in the trees, watching as the men below her began to set up camp for the night. She took out the piece of parchment that had been given to her team that morning...

Lyra once lived a life of danger and excitement. But that was before she failed to kill him. The one that was supposed to be dead 3 years ago. The one that she let slip away. Now, fast forward 3 years later, and she is headed to the palace as a messenger and a servant girl. A girl who must once again face the past she has so desperately been trying to cover up and run from.

Valek lives within the confines of the palace, working day in and day out as a close adviser to the Commander, his best friend. Together, they rule over Averutha, and fight to keep peace and harmony within the land. However, Valek has his own demons to fight, and the raging storm of emotions he is still keeping tight under a lid after the encounter only 3 years ago. Now, years later, he is still trying to find the girl. The only person to have so effortlessly captured his heart.
