Although architects spend hundreds of hours slaving over their designs attempting to get every last detail right. These hours can result in incredible designs that inspire awe around the world, however once their designs are complete, architects are not responsible for the buildings themselves and sometimes they can go out of use and become abandoned, left to rot and wither away. Here is the Fahad Al-Tamimi list of the most incredible abandoned pieces of architecture.

A small horseshoe-shaped island in the Sea of Japan was once the setting of a war due to the vast gold resources contained on it. In 1892 a permanent observation post called the Vladivostock Fortress was built there and it became the subject of international tensions between Russia and Japan. Today the island is still cluttered with the remains of what has been left behind now that the island has been fully deserted. The base of a now vanished pier, old lighthouses, a power station and a command post remain. The remaining buildings are an excellent example of pre First World War industrial soviet architecture and due to the fact the island is difficult to reach there has bene little human interaction to disturb the old buildings.

The Bannerman Castle, found 50 miles north of New York on a small island in the Hudson Island seems like a building caught out of time. It was designed by Francis Bannerman himself, an eccentric Scotsman, and built in 1901. It’s littered with the rusted remains of a vast civil war weapon collection. It’s a unique design that often doesn’t follow traditional architectural patterns which makes it an entirely unique structure, especially considering the super modern surroundings it finds itself in.

Build in 1967, the Monument to the Revolution of the people of Moslavina, is a World War II sculpture designed by Dusan Dzamonja, it’s located in Croatia and is one of many buildings commissioned by former Yugoslavian president Josip Prez Tito.

Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)

By 2057, Earth will be a shadow of its former self. Decades of unbridled consumption and climate negligence have left the earth almost desolate. Water, oil, and lush land are relics of the past, valued more than money. All nations have collapsed under the weight of famine, disease, and internal upheaval, leaving only two superpowers: the United States and Russia. They were once reluctant allies but now find themselves embroiled in a deadly, global fight for the planet's few remaining resources. While the population fights to survive in enormous urban wastelands, both regimes use advanced technologies and covert tactics in a desperate push for absolute dominion. During the pandemonium, 17-year-old Caleb Morrow, a scrappy survivor from the ruins of Canada, is conscripted into the US military. Meanwhile, on the other side, Elena Morozova, an 18-year-old Russian conscript hailing from the ruins of Norway, ascends the ranks in the Russian military. As this conflict between the 2 last countries left spirals out of control, the past suddenly begins to rise from the ashes leaving questions to arise in the thoughts of many soldiers on both sides including Caleb and Elena that, if answered, reveals a dark and unsettling truth. Scarcity is a story of curiosity, critical thinking, corruption, and trust in a collapsing world. Make sure to keep your rifle tight as you explore a dark truth... *This story includes mature themes such as: war crimes and heavy violence* *Perspectives will continuously shift between characters in this story* *All pictures are not real sketches*

"After you're done with everything here on this island. Would you like to maybe- join our crew? For real this time." Ace's eyes light up with hope. "I don't think I'll make it before you leave-" You look away, not bearing to face his piercing stare anymore. "I can wait!" he interrupts, letting go of your hand as quickly as he took it. "I mean uhh... me and the crew... we can wait for you," he stutters out. "This place seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind staying here for a few more days." "We'll see," you softly chuckle in an attempt to hide your blank eyes. "I mean, who else is supposed to save you when you're halfway beaten to death?" Hearing his halfhearted laugh sent a striking pain through your chest. You swallow hard to keep a sob from escaping your throat as you realise this might be the last time you ever hear it. Tears roll down your cheeks, blurring your vision as you lock eyes with the freckled man you've been dreaming about for the past months. The familiar warmth tingles on your skin as he gently cups your face, his thumb carefully wiping away the tears on your cheek. Without breaking your gaze he leans in closer and whispers, "I don't want to be saved by anybody else, y/n." Ace x fem reader Started September 10th 2024 disclaimers! I do not own the cover art. Hi there, I'm JD, a 31-year-old Venezuelan-Spanish Economist living in Barcelona with my Russian (pro-peace) wife Anna and our two kittens; we met in Italy eight years ago, and almost since then we have been working on this project. During our careers we've worked with people from South America to Japan, from Australia to Canada, from South Africa to Norway, the characters in the novel are based on people I was lucky enough to meet along the way who left me with invaluable lessons which we feel the duty and privilege of sharing with our fellow humans, hopefully sharing what cosmologists call "Space Bias". There are seven main protagonists each one with their own chapter - which can be read in whichever order you prefer, - two of them in present tense and the rest in past, it's all part of the story. They all have mixed backgrounds such as a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, a survivor of the Rwanda massacre, a Colombian with Lebanese and Portuguese ancestry, a Danish whose mother is German, a Jewish lady married to a Muslim man she met in Jerusalem, an Anglo-Indian guy inspired in a way in Orwell - character name is Arthur such as Orwell's real name, - and last but definitely not least a Turkish Muslim bisexual woman for which a Lebanese friend for work is providing help; my friend is working on her Ph.D. on gender inequality in politics, especially in countries with religious civil wars that have moved from the streets to parliament. The story's Universe - 7 trillion light-years, approximately 78 times the size of our observable universe and 252 times the size of a Hubble sphere - provides more than enough civilizations to present dystopias that can serve as warnings for the future - ideally in the style of 1984, A Brave New World, or Fahrenheit 451, - as well as utopias where we find A.E.I - Artificial Emotional Intelligence - along with futuristic ways of understanding childhood, education, and life itself.

Despite it being well past sunrise, the house was dark. I had woken up with a start, hearing the sound of a car below but now as I lay awake, I was in even more of a panic. "Don't make a sound." She whispered as she clasped a hand over my mouth, "The house is surrounded. They're going to kill us. They're going to kill the countries." ... It is gradually nearing to two decades since Taishya Rovanoff ran away with her twins and despite the media taking the world by storm, great tensions are underlying once-happy friendships with the nations. When a young and perhaps too-curious state comes across some files, she decides it is her own personal mission to solve the missing-twin mystery. This, however, proves more challenging than not when old scars are reopened leading to a series of events which brings the world to its knees. With forgotten prophecies and mysterious attacks threatening the lives of once-strong countries, the world is inevitably falling apart. So how is it, with all the chaos going on, a missing lady, a set of twins, a naïve child, a sickly teenager, a frightened mother, a celestial body and a queen all bring about the darkest hour the personified nations have ever faced? How is it that the threads of the earth are slowly undoing to bring about the start of the end of the world? ... DISCLAIMER: The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious. No identification with actual persons, places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred. The only things that I own are the plot, Taishya and any other OC's I might decide to include. If I did own Hetalia, I wouldn't be writing this...actually, I reckon I would be on an island, basking in the sun and drinking a pineapple cocktail whilst my servants brought slices of nectarines. Hetalia and it's characters belong to their rightful genius owner, Hidekaz Himaruya...(seriously, that man is a god!).
