Although architects spend hundreds of hours slaving over their designs attempting to get every last detail right. These hours can result in incredible designs that inspire awe around the world, however once their designs are complete, architects are not responsible for the buildings themselves and sometimes they can go out of use and become abandoned, left to rot and wither away. Here is the Fahad Al-Tamimi list of the most incredible abandoned pieces of architecture.

A small horseshoe-shaped island in the Sea of Japan was once the setting of a war due to the vast gold resources contained on it. In 1892 a permanent observation post called the Vladivostock Fortress was built there and it became the subject of international tensions between Russia and Japan. Today the island is still cluttered with the remains of what has been left behind now that the island has been fully deserted. The base of a now vanished pier, old lighthouses, a power station and a command post remain. The remaining buildings are an excellent example of pre First World War industrial soviet architecture and due to the fact the island is difficult to reach there has bene little human interaction to disturb the old buildings.

The Bannerman Castle, found 50 miles north of New York on a small island in the Hudson Island seems like a building caught out of time. It was designed by Francis Bannerman himself, an eccentric Scotsman, and built in 1901. It’s littered with the rusted remains of a vast civil war weapon collection. It’s a unique design that often doesn’t follow traditional architectural patterns which makes it an entirely unique structure, especially considering the super modern surroundings it finds itself in.

Build in 1967, the Monument to the Revolution of the people of Moslavina, is a World War II sculpture designed by Dusan Dzamonja, it’s located in Croatia and is one of many buildings commissioned by former Yugoslavian president Josip Prez Tito.

This story takes place in a fantasy world where demons, humans, and faunus (humans with animal qualities) fight for survival. A world where the rifle is shunned in favour for the sword and sheild. The Visean kingdom has recently defeated the Demon Queendom in a war and has secured a large amount of territory and also allowing other kingdoms to form such as the Empire of Japan with its famous samurai and the Spartan Kingdom with its legendary Spartan warriors. The king of the Visea kingdom was not a nice man. He had 4 sons. 3 were skilled warriors. However, the eldest, William, was looked down upon. While he was proficient as a sword, he served as a strategist for the Kingdom's armies. While the people loved him most of his family despised him. Therefore his father disowned him and exiled him to a distant village. Separated from the Kingdom as a separate country William saw this as an opportunity to build this village into a great empire. And on his journey he will bring concepts and ideas from his own world together. He will meet many people on this journey of revenge. And who knows maybe he will find love along the way? Jesus and Muhammad adopted the Hebrew's belief in one God and Christianity and Islam spread throughout the world. The Chinese were using gunpowder in the 9th century and, by the 13th , cannon dominated the battlefields. Paper money appeared in China from 1216, as many financial transactions were too large for heavy bronze coins. The Anglo-Saxons built light, fast ships to stop the Vikings raiding Britain and, in 1546, Henry VIII established the "Navy Royal" which Elizabeth I used to defeat the Spanish armada. Before 1764 a worker needed 50,000 hours to spin 100 lb of cotton thread on a hand-powered wheel but only 300 hours with a spinning machine. Between 1770 and 1773, James Cook crossed the Antarctic Circle and mapped the coasts of New Zealand, Australia and the west coast of north America. By 100 BCE, Chinese were weaving complex silk brocade cloth. In 1804, J. M. Jacquard reinvented the Chinese loom, using a chain of cards to control which threads of weft or warp appeared on the cloth. This was the beginning of computers. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas. Later books detail some of the ideas and developments that increased the average life span from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day (and to $140 per day in some countries).

"After you're done with everything here on this island. Would you like to maybe- join our crew? For real this time." Ace's eyes light up with hope. "I don't think I'll make it before you leave-" You look away, not bearing to face his piercing stare anymore. "I can wait!" he interrupts, letting go of your hand as quickly as he took it. "I mean uhh... me and the crew... we can wait for you," he stutters out. "This place seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind staying here for a few more days." "We'll see," you softly chuckle in an attempt to hide your blank eyes. "I mean, who else is supposed to save you when you're halfway beaten to death?" Hearing his halfhearted laugh sent a striking pain through your chest. You swallow hard to keep a sob from escaping your throat as you realise this might be the last time you ever hear it. Tears roll down your cheeks, blurring your vision as you lock eyes with the freckled man you've been dreaming about for the past months. The familiar warmth tingles on your skin as he gently cups your face, his thumb carefully wiping away the tears on your cheek. Without breaking your gaze he leans in closer and whispers, "I don't want to be saved by anybody else, y/n." Ace x fem reader Started September 10th 2024 disclaimers! I do not own the cover art. Shadows of Elysium: The Laughing King by DalisJamesBunch

Once upon a time there was a world, much like our own. This world is gone. The machinations and wars of man saw to every manner of apocalypse. What was left is a world as nightmarish as it is fantastical. Gunslingers and swordsmen ply the same trade. Science, chemistry and magic are indistinguishable from one another. The monsters prey on all, but the true villains will always be human. Humans who have walled other humans in to the most violent part of The Husken Earth, The Wastelands. The Immortal Red Eyed Man sits atop this wall and uses his airships to drop experimental drugs into The Wasteland. Both mutants and parasites live under the shadow of the Abominations birthed. Monsters and men fear their brothers and sisters who fall prey to the allure of Elysium. It's hard to tell what is more addictive, the magical drug itself or the power it promises. {End Blurb} [Lore] Only one wall was ever built to protect the non-cannibalistic mutants of the Grey Coast and the inhabitants of Valoria from the true Wastelands; it has fallen. The remaining warriors built a great defense to fill the gap in the frontline wall. This outpost was overrun and the warriors that defended it became too few. They did the best they could and many died in the battles to keep the True Wastelands at bay. Survivers became little more than wanderers, sell swords and try hard defenders of the inhabited wastes. This is the tale of one such wanderer and his mission to unite the Wastelands against the abominations created from Elysium. This is the tale of The Wandering King and his sadistic counterpart.

As he took in his new surroundings, a ticking sound resonated through the library. He turned to find an animated pendulum clock with a distinguished wooden mustache. Clearing its throat, the clock bowed slightly and addressed him. "Your Highness," it said in a refined British accent, "an old man has intruded upon the vicinity of the castle." Stunned, Ivan blinked in disbelief. "Cogsworth?" ________ The World were the MC is will be a cross over of many animated cartoons, fabl

Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)
