Hazel was 16 and moving to a new place where she would meet new people. She struggles making a big transition from her former home to this new strange one. She goes to public school for the first time and takes a liking to the yearbook club and discovers she has a passion for a certain sport.
When the Hottie of the school, Lee, takes a strange interest to Hazel she gains a new group of friends as they show her all the cool places and fun things to do in her hometown. When Hazel being attacked by other girls in her grade, Lee takes a stand and feeling start to develop for each other and new friends.

"Oh," he said, as my back hit the wooden wall. Damn it, of course. With nowhere to go, his arms locked me in between him and the wall. He stared down at me as he said, "So you're trying to piss me off?" His lips were surprisingly close to mine. Coop, or "Slick" as he's know to his mc brothers is macho and rough, smart and loyal, Coop can't understand why the new girl who is suddenly friends with all of his friends, annoys him so much. He tried not to be rude to her, well, he didn't try that hard, and he certainly didn't succeed. But he did get her a restraining order from an abusive ex, so why does she bother him so much? It's annoying as hell that she's got the whole beautiful, smart and funny thing going on, she just needs to stay out of his way. Their world is bright and happy, shiny and safe (as far as she's aware) and she will do everything in her power to keep it that way. Her move back to Ventura is the best thing (next to her baby) that's happened to her, ever, so she is not going to let the grumpy, jerk of a club lawyer/club brother get in the way of her own happily ever after.
