War.

That's what this is.

If you beg to differ with what my world is going through right now, I would love to imprint in your mind what is imprinted in my own.

Blood.

Tears.

Chaos.

I lost so much. I lost my sister, my home, my only family. I lost any feeling of happiness I felt before that day and there won't be any way in bringing it back as long as these Fusionists are controlling the city.

As long as the Fusionists are controlling this entire world.

But still...I was more fortunate than most.

I still had someone I could trust.

Everything was destroyed in the attack. The blue sky that once covered our city is its brilliant blue was now a dank brown color from the smoke and the ashes in the atmosphere.

All the glowing and lit up buildings that made up HeartLand and its city were all gone or were only barely standing, highly unstable for people to live in.

The Fusionists have done this to our beautiful home. The Fusionists have taken everything that I hold dear...except for one person.

Yuto.

Yuto has been my friend since we were young. We had the closest bond one could have. He loved my sister, Ruri, who was taken by those fiends.

...but we both vowed to destroy those Fusionists and to bring back Ruri and everyone else who was captured by the Fusionists.

We would end this war and would work till we died for that goal.

The Fusionists think they have won.

They think we are all gone are too scared to fight back.

But what they don't know is that there are plenty of us. Just simply waiting here, right under their noses, for the right moment to strike.

Then we will launch an attack so deadly with the forces of all the opposing dimensions combined that they will surely lose and the Fusionists will not know what hit them.

It could take weeks.

Months.

But we can wait.

We are patient. We can wait and hide in the ashes until the moment is just right.

Then we will present to them an amount of power they will never expect.

The power of the "RESISTANCE".

Nina is captured by parbeing man. He plans to turn her into his pet. He knows she won't go down without a fight, but he's not prepared for how much 'fight' she has packed in her small body. His new pet leaks into every area of his life, changing things in ways he could never have imagined. Parbeings are the new and improved apex predators of Earth. Created from gene editing, they are the perfect humans, so perfect that they are no longer even considered human. *** Content Warning: The protagonist of this story is a victim of abuse. I do not condone the actions of the antagonist *** Chapter 1 extract: "Hey Alex. Get over here. I've got something for you," he calls into his collar radio. I reach the end of the alley and turn to face my foe once again, but he remains where he is, still blocking my path but not approaching either. New plan: when he gets close, duck under his arms and make a run for it. Now I just have to wait. Before a minute has even passed, another armoured soldier appears and joins the first. This just keeps getting worse. How am I supposed to dodge past two of them? "What do you want now?" the new soldier grumbles. This one must be Alex. "Look at this cute little human I found. She's feisty. I think she's perfect for you." I glare at them. "I don't want a pet human. That's your disgusting fetish, and I'll have no part in it." "Oh come on Captain," the first soldier whines, "You don't have to fuck her, just train her to be obedient. Surely you can control one measly wild human? You are a captain after all. When you're done, you can just get rid of her, like I do with my humans." What the fuck? For a brief moment my fear is replaced by anger. Who do they think they are, talking about me like I'm some kind of wild animal? "Get the fuck away from me! You freaks!" I screech. The first soldier just flashes an evil grin. They don't budge. "Are you just going to let her talk to you like that?" he goads Alex. (Complete. 70k words.)
My Last Breath (Book one of The Portal Series) by Chinesechickens123

BOOK ONE: Having enough courage to run through the woods and away from the people who convinced me they were saving me was not how I believed I'd spend my day. Yet, there I went escaping from the only place I knew existed in the world. Being held captive was too much for me, especially when these people wouldn't tell me who they were or even who I was. The first moment in my life I recall very clearly. I awoke in a dark room, with recollection of everything that happened in the world except for one thing. I had no memory of myself existing, I didn't know where I was or why these men kept me from leaving. Days after I first woke I asked plenty of questions, and yet none of them were answered. The only thing I learned was that I was not allowed outside because the woods heald the most powerful magic on the planet, the most dangerous magic. It was more than just bad men and curiosity about the forest that got me to leave, it was a pull towards something; towards magic. Once I was in the forest turning back was never an option, so I put it in my head that I'd keep walking until I found a civilization or a nice paved road that would lead to safety. But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.
