There were so many times I needed her

She would have never died
Some say she was a demon
Some monster from the depths of hell
But that's not true
She was just a pitiful creature of darkness 
A siren lamenting her emptiness 
The mermaid was wise
And wary of the fire
But she somehow knew she would survive life's scorching flames

I lay my head down in the sand and breath heavaly so that I can take enough oxygen back into my lungs. suddenly, there is a shadow standing above me and when I look up, I see the horifyed expression of my mate.
