The year is 2550, and humanity is near the brink of losing the war against the Covenant Empire. Meanwhile, conflicts continue to arise between the UNSC and the Insurrection forces throughout the space that the UEG still controls. Multiple classified "super-soldier" programs and projects have been initiated in the hopes of curbing this threat. Project Nightingale is one of them.

Icarus Chase is your average socially awkward pre-teen boy. He doesn't talk much, has almost no friends, and is also a candidate for a top-secret military program. Candice Suzuki is not your average anything. She barely talks at all, has a maximum of seven friends, and is the top performance candidate for the same military program. Neither expected the events that would bring them together, and neither are happy about it about the changes they bring.

However, unbeknownst to the two children, a storm is building. Enemies and challenges await them, and if they are to face them, they must be ready. And unless they can learn to work together, victory will not be won.
