To live for eternity is to live for a long time. Would anyone choose a life where they were immortal? Imagine the amount of deaths of the closest people to you that you would have to witness. Many humans not only would not choose a life like that, but would hunt anyone with that ability and not stop until every last immortal was destroyed.
