How would one describe Sherlock and Johns relationship, friends is the most likely answer but as Sherlock would say as he pushed his head back creating a row of many chins, "I don't have friends". Colleagues is probably also a very likely answer but they obviously have a stronger relationship than that, friendly colleagues, close colleagues, friendly close colleges that very well could be described as friends. Ah, that's it.
