THIS IS THE OLD VERSION OF THE STORY. IT WILL NOT BE UPDATED. THE NEW VERSION IS CALLED THE BOOK OF IRIS AND CAN BE FOUND ON OUR PAGE. - - - - Eight girls. One history. Eight different fates. Azure Mason is calm, cool, and collected. Some mistake it for being shy, but she's just nice. She's always at home curled up with a book, or having lessons with her geology crazed mother, who's favorite pastime was to push her reserved daughter out of her circle. Until one push sent her flying out of reach of her comfortable normal life. Khloe Field's life is about as normal as you could get. School, friends, food... At least that's what she thinks. One psycho boyfriend and a trip to good guy incorporated, and even she is struggling to get her life back together. Follow the story of Azure and Khloe as their lives spiral out of control at the hands of tiny glowing stones. Yeah, this is going to be a weird one. A/N We have decided to keep this up on our account as a beacon of how far we have come as writers and as people. The version that is currently being written is called The Book of Iris and has some MAJOR changes. We hope that you enjoy that one as much as you may have enjoyed this one and can look at this not as a failure, but as progress. Thank you for taking the time to read our book and for sticking with us. Sincerely, Ali and Alyx.

Ren is a quiet teen in a small New Zealand town. He just wants to finish school, avoid the local bullies and maybe tell his best friend how he feels. But one blistering summer day he bursts into flames and emerges as the Sun God's champion: a radiant, female warrior. For generations, the Phoenix's power has passed through the women of his family, so his grandmother is as shocked as he is when it chooses a boy. As Ren struggles to control fire, wings and teleportation, strange phenomena - frozen lakes in summer, earthquakes that seem to think - signal that the world is unraveling. Ancient enemies known as the Shadows of the Eclipse feed on chaos and are awakening. Torn between hiding in his hoodie and facing a destiny he never wanted, Ren must decide who he is, what he will fight for and whether to trust the boy who's always been by his side. This isn't a fairytale. It's messy, queer, and sometimes heartbreaking. But if you're into mythic fantasy with real feelings, and a protagonist who literally sets himself on fire to save the world, jump in. The world's last Phoenix is a boy, and he's just getting started.
