I HATE it. I hate putting on makeup, I hate curling my hair, I hate trying to be pretty. Of course, that's all my mother wants me to be. As I pull skirts and sweaters from my dresser, I see this flash of silver. When I ask my mother what it is, she begins to act strange and defies that I even saw it. Was she trying to hide something from me? Could there be something more to my life? Based on the "Wings of Fire" series, by Tui T. Sutherland.

I never really wanted to be popular, to make people feel like shit because it was "expected" of me. I never wanted to date the "hottest" guy in school and to have the most "friends" because that was what was expected. No, I never wanted people to look at me in disgust and whisper my name as if it was a bad thing. Nor, did I want people to look up at me as if I was some sort of "Goddess" for something that even I hated doing. Why did I do it? To hide. I had to hide everything about me, the real me, and for some odd reason, I never questioned it. I never questioned why my brother thought it would be best for me to hide my looks behind a disguise, nor did I question him wanting to train me in secret. That was until he knocked me to the side as if I was important, and I figured out that I was more than the popular that dated an Alpha. I, the popular female in school, was also the Pure Alpha's Mate, and something was trying to make sure that he never knew what he was. _______________________________________ NOTE: IF YOU READ THIS BOOK ON ANY OTHER APP BESIDES WATTPAD THEN IT IS COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.
