This poem is based on a story about a father and a son. The father was sent away to go into war. Many years ago males would be forced to go into war, leaving behind their loved ones. War is a tough thing to go through in my opinion and many people suffered from PTSD. It was very common for them to react in a very jumpy and frightened manner.
