What if Newt hadn't died? What if the bullet Thomas fired didn't kill him; or if he was saved in time, by the organization they were working against?
What if Newt came to realise that not all of WICKED was bad, because his mother was one of its agents and sent her colleagues after him to help? What if just when he was about to reunite with his best friends when everything came crashing back down to ground zero, and Thomas lost everything he loved yet again? What if Newt's death was not as worse as the fate he was redeemed to, an effect with no cure or no turning back?
(This fanfiction is based on a theory I saw on Instagram by bloodycranky and it was awesome, so fabulous that I just couldn't forget it. There was another one by newtmasluv where Newt was actually an Immune but WICKED controlled him through the Swipe and forced him to act as a Crank because his death was just another variable for Thomas. It was just heartbreaking, but so far, I have no ideas on how to write that, so until I have, I won't write a fanfiction about it. Cover created by me! XD)

Hi I wrote this fanfic first for myself but I thought why not share it on wattpad for those who want to read it as well? Basically it's a Newt fanfiction set in the Maze Runner Movie Franchise. They try to escape the grasp of WICKED as they make their way through the Scorch in search of the Right Arm. My arm lowered from my eyes so that my vision could adjust to my surroundings. There were about fifty boys, all boys, looking down at me and Thomas in this room in the ground like we were some new animals at the zoo.
