What if Newt hadn't died? What if the bullet Thomas fired didn't kill him; or if he was saved in time, by the organization they were working against?
What if Newt came to realise that not all of WICKED was bad, because his mother was one of its agents and sent her colleagues after him to help? What if just when he was about to reunite with his best friends when everything came crashing back down to ground zero, and Thomas lost everything he loved yet again? What if Newt's death was not as worse as the fate he was redeemed to, an effect with no cure or no turning back?
(This fanfiction is based on a theory I saw on Instagram by bloodycranky and it was awesome, so fabulous that I just couldn't forget it. There was another one by newtmasluv where Newt was actually an Immune but WICKED controlled him through the Swipe and forced him to act as a Crank because his death was just another variable for Thomas. It was just heartbreaking, but so far, I have no ideas on how to write that, so until I have, I won't write a fanfiction about it. Cover created by me! XD)

Our Personal Hell; A Thomesa Fiction
The plot of the story revolves around Thomas, a young boy who wakes up in an underground elevator with no memory of his past, only to find himself in a mysterious place called the Glade, surrounded by towering stone walls. He discovers he's among other boys who have also lost their memories, forming a society where each has a role in survival and exploration. They're trapped by a vast and ever-changing maze that threatens their lives with deadly biomechanical creatures known as Grievers. As Thomas adapts to life in the Glade, he becomes involved in unraveling the mystery of the Maze. Along the way, he uncovers fragments of memories and clues about his past, including his connection to a girl named Teresa, who arrives mysteriously in the Glade shortly after him. Conflict arises when the stability of the Glade is disrupted by attacks from Grievers and internal tensions among the boys, exacerbated by Thomas's emerging memories and his role in challenging the status quo. He remembers his involvement in the Maze's creation as part of a secretive organization, W.C.K.D., whose experiments on the Gladers were aimed at finding a cure for a deadly virus, the Flare. Thomas and Teresa, reunited by their shared past and growing feelings, lead the Gladers in a desperate bid for freedom. They discover a hidden laboratory where they once worked, witnessing video recordings revealing the true purpose behind the Maze experiment. There are challenges, people get taken, and with the flare becoming airborne, anything can happen. Will they make it to the Right Arm or will WICKED beat them to it? Or maybe, death will.
