When Adelaide realizes that her ex-best and only friend, Bridget, has killed herself, she can't help but feel a little guilty. She knows she could have stopped her. But after they drifted away, Bridget was practically unapproachable. The girls have a long history together, being that they have practically been friends since birth. They went through divorced parents, deaths and impossibly hard times. Adie isn't the only one who feels guilty, though. Bridget's boyfriend, Tristan, feels lost without Bridget and attempts to kill himself so that he can be with her. Adie stops him at the last minute, fearing another suicide.
