Girls! Girls!
Andre is a handsome young man who is currently in sixth form in High School. He professes to be a
Christian, but knows deep down that he lacks commitment to God. He prides himself in being
able to get any girl he desires. He learnt much of this from watching his father and older brother
move from one relationship with women to another.
Growing up, Andre was at first very upset with his dad and was sympathetic for his mom, especially when she found out that his younger brother, Jermaine, was born in the same week that another child was born to his father. This was very painful to his mom as the child’s mother was a friend of the family. However, as he grows older be begins to be less sympathetic towards his mother’s expressions of hurt and pain and enjoys spending more time with his Dad, who he now sees as his role model. Andre now feels good within himself about his increasing popularity at school. Lately he started to live a promiscuous lifestyle which includes having sexual relationships with girls who are close friends without them knowing. The irony of this is that both Andre and his father are highly protective of his sixteen year old sister, Charo, who has began to deeply resent them for what she feels is control, manipulation and hypocrisy. Lately he has narrowed his girlfriends to two girls who are friends.
Truth be Told.
Andre’s behavior has shown that he is not ready for a relationship at all. Relationships are based on
commitment, dedication and trust and he has proven that he has none of these, additionally having two girlfriends [at the same time], is unethical and shows disrespect for women. Even if the young ladies involved agree to this type of arrangement, it is still wrong. Andre is building a lifestyle based on lying.
