MyStory 2: Secrets of the Universe

All Prof. Keith James wanted was to live a quiet life, studying the universe from the shadows, and taking care of his little brother and sister. Unfortunately, life doesn't always give you what you want. When military officials showed up at his door asking to have him fight, he decided to go in order to hopefully end the war quickly.

"Besides, Mum, I don' go off an' die withou' a good reason."

What he didn't prepare for was the worst possible scenario.

I collapsed on the floor, and burst into tears.
"All I wanted was peace... why can no one ever get along?"

As he gathers the clues to why he's so frequently targeted, he struggles between who he should trust, and who he can't.

"Listen to me, Wanderer." She said, grabbing my shoulders roughly. "You can't trust anyone. If you continue trusting blindly, they will strip you of everything and burn it."
W-Who's they?" I asked, shaking slightly. She sighed, looking away.
"Everyone who isn't you or your other lives. I don't care if you don't trust me, but at least listen, alright?"
"...Fine."
