Misunderstood gay teenager Shirley finds herself out on the cold, harsh streets of Northpark as the second world war comes to an end. She has nothing and no place to call her own but she soon befriends a band of misfit teenagers from the local Mental Health Specialist Ward For Troubled Youth. Each individual fighting their own mental battle and each a different story behind them.  Shirley falls in love with a patient called Ellen, who is messed up as she is beautiful. Shirley tries her best to get into the center herself but without doctors or parents permission she is forced back to the streets. But when tragedy strikes her friends spiral downwards rapidly, can she piece together their broken hearts without cutting her fingers on the pieces?All Rights Reserved

She loses many parts of herself to the point you wouldn't even recognize her anymore but that's apart of grief right? Not just her but her friends and family also lose themselves, things being very chaotic and different then what it used to be. Emmeline doesn't know what to do at one point and decides to end it all but doesn't succeed. The people who care for her try and help her find herself again but it can only be done if she wants it to happen.
