My name is Nixie Evergreen, and my life is anything but normal. My story begins two months ago, when my life was still pretty close to normal.
I lived with my parents somewhere in the forest near Salem. We had a big house and a field surrounding it. From the gates at the edge of our territory, we had a road to the house. Nobody ever came to visit us and I wasn't allowed to bring anyone home. But since I didn't know why, I once did and it changed everything...

I got dumped in some coastal English village no one's ever heard of because apparently "being angry" is a personality flaw and "reckless endangerment" is a reason to be deported. The forest's weird.
