In this world there are two types of werewolves. There are the normal werewolves, they have mates and normally fall in love with them as soon as they see them. Then there are the Amanti werewolves, these werewolves don't feel the mate connection and if they ever met their mates they would feel nothing towards them. Amanda Bell is an Amanti werewolf, she's in love with Adam Lowe, another Amanti werewolf. They have been living together for a couple of months. One day, while waiting for Adam at the local mall, Amanda meets a werewolf who claims to be her mate.
